Things with me are good and spirited. I just got back from a week in Ole Milwaukee for the bi-annual Assembly of the Volunteer Missionary Movement (VMM) and I'll tell you what, I really feel like I’m part of a movement now- so many historic and committed folks getting together to celebrate the past and the present, and to plan for the future. I hadn’t even necessarily taken the time to realize that we are actually celebrating 40 years as a movement this year as well. The founder of VMM and renowned spiritual poet, Edwina Gateley, was also present to give an amazing and inspirational keynote speech.
Back here in ES, things keep on keeping on. Amongst the constant responsibilities with VMM and Maria Madre, I’m also getting ready for a delegation that I'll be in charge of that will be coming to Maria Madre on Saturday from their sisters Brown Memorial and Maryland Presbyterian churches in the Baltimore area. Folks are still pretty darn excited about the results of the elections in March and the recent inauguration of President Funes this past June 1st. I really want to write and send out to you all a more personal account of what March 15th was like (never mind that it was 3 months ago). It’s certainly burned into my memory (I think the marks from where the scorpion stung me have gone away, but more on that to come), it’s just a matter of putting finger to keyboard as they say.
So in the meantime, I did write more of a dry analysis about projections for the Funes government, so please check it out on the website of the North American Concress on Latin America at https://nacla.org/node/5892. If that link doesn’t work directly, hopefully you can cut and paste.
Peace, Danny
