My ten trips to Milwaukee from the fall of 1995 to this </div> <div> June have all involved VMM. This time for the first time I was </div> <div> actually in Milwaukee and realized that I had never been in Milwaukee </div> <div> before! I had just assumed that I had! Too often we make ASSUMPTIONS </div> <div> and treat them as THE TRUTH! It's often like that in our experiences </div> <div> with people and events. In VMM we work to really get to know people </div> <div> and issues and hope in this way to create peace and justice in our </div> <div> world.</div> <bR> <div> For reflection today, I send you a poem written by Edwina Gateley for </div> <div> our 25th anniversary of VMM-USA.</div> <bR> <div> DEEPLY BLESSED</div> <bR> <div> We have not saved the world</div> <div> but we have deeply loved it.</div> <div> We have circled the globe with our song</div> <div> of healing, and justice and hope,</div> <div> touching a million souls and</div> <div> birthing rainbows in</div> <div> the dark and lonely corners.</div> <div> Our gifts of friendship, faith and skills</div> <div> we have scattered like stars</div> <div> from west to east and north to south.</div> <div> Teachers and healers, farmers and builders,</div> <div> artisans and craftspeople,</div> <div> prophets and preachers,</div> <div> we have crossed the azure waters,</div> <div> climbed the forbidding mountains and</div> <div> trod the thirsting deserts,</div> <div> driven by a simple mission</div> <div> to love and heal in a broken world.</div> <div> Some of us, saints and martyrs of modern times,</div> <div> have died in mission,</div> <div> broken in body, but never in Spirit</div> <div> which dances on in all of us.</div> <bR> <div> For 25 years we have sung our song</div> <div> proclaiming the mission of Jesus and</div> <div> standing for justice at home and abroad.</div> <div> We have not saved the world</div> <div> but we have deeply loved it.</div> <div> Sing now with us</div> <div> for we also</div> <div> have been deeply blessed.</div> <bR> <div> Cecily</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
